A Personal Note from Pastor's Pen - Satan Isn't Red
Satan Isn’t Red...
I don't know about you, but I really love surprises. When something good falls into your life unexpectedly it is such a lift to your spirit. Sometimes, these surprises make your day. Sometimes, they make your month. Sometimes... they make your year! As I have followed the LORD, I have come to know that He is filled with wonderful surprises. He truly is capable of doing exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think. I think our heavenly Father enjoys surprising us with His unexpected handfuls of purpose. This is one of the ways that we come to know the greatness of His goodness. On the inverse, sometimes the LORD shows us His goodness by taking away the element of surprise. The Devil likes to leave his own handfuls of purpose, punishment, and persecution. There’s nothing worse than stumbling into one of his evil snares unaware.
God does not intend for Satan to ever have the advantage over us. The LORD in His goodness warns us of Satan and his devilish devices in order to strip away his element of surprise. This gives us the upper hand. This gives us the opportunity to shock and surprise Satan. He lays out his snares with an evil craftiness… What sadness fills his heart when the child of God stops short of the snare and cunningly walks around it.
If we, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, will arm ourselves with the armor of light and walk in obedience to the Word of God we will have available to us the same power over Satan that Pastor David preached about this last Sunday. What a great message! We saw Christ throw an entire legion of demons into the swine and then into the sea. We watched Him drown an army of devils. What a sad day it was for Satan when a maniac became a man of God and a wild man became a witness.
If we assign the devil a color… lets not make it red. Let’s let the Word of God color him in. The Bible says that he is actually black and blue. He is the color of a bruise for he is exceedingly bruised. The LORD crushed Satan’s head under foot at the cross. Christ is victorious and He IS THE CAPTAIN OF MY SALVATION! I follow after Him! Let this verse echo in your hearts… Romans 16:20 says this, “AND the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Just as Christ bruised Satan… God will lead us to do the same!
One of our goals this year should be to make Satan sad… To side-step his snares and to smile at the struggles he throws our way. -Pastor Joe
