We will study the first half of the verse, where Isaiah tells us that a child is born and a Son is given, and that the government will rest on His shoulders. Isaiah invites us to see something easy to overlook. The story begins with a fragile newborn, yet hidden in that moment is the One strong enough to carry what no one else can. The world looks at a manger and sees weakness. God looks at it and sees a throne in the making.
