A Personal Note from Pastor's Pen - Happy New Year

Happy New Year! What a great time it is to celebrate new beginnings and a fresh start as a new calendar year begins today. Although it may take us several months to stop writing 2022 on our checks, we come into 2023 with eagerness and excitement. Not because at the stroke of midnight last night everything changed, nor because our circumstances are any different than yesterday. However, we enter this year with great anticipation because of the confidence we have. Here are some things that I am confident of for the year 2023. I am confident that God is in control! God has never made a mistake and I am ever mindful that nothing comes into my life or into yours, without it coming through the hand of a loving Father. We don’t have to live in fear, because God is with us. God said in Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. I am also confident that good will come from this year, no matter what. I expect 2023, like all other years, to have it share of blessings and its share of challenges. This year will bring reasons to laugh and reasons to cry. But no matter what unfolds, we know that God has orchestrated every moment with our good and His glory in mind. Then also, I step into this new year with confidence because of you. Because of the love, concern, prayers, and faithfulness we have for one another. Paul wrote these words to the church at Corinth. II Corinthians 7:16 I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things. Like Paul, I too rejoice because of the confidence I have in you.  Isn’t it great that God put us on this journey through uncharted and often tumultuous waters together. He knew this church needed you to fill a void that only you could fill. So no matter what comes our way in these days ahead, lets pray together, fast together, witness together, love and cry together. Let's pick up the gospel message and take it to the lost in our community and to those around the world… TOGETHER!
